Job Description 

Lahore Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is the second largest water company in Pakistan and is responsible for water supply, sewage, and sewage management in the large city of Lahore, Pakistan. WASA Lahore under Project Management Unit (PMU) has contracted for a project titled “Sewerage System from LARECH Colony to Gulshan Ravi through Trenchless Technology” for a period of 36 months. Interested in recruitment for Water and Sewerage Management Project (Lahore), which will be financed by Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). This large-scale project will be executed in EPC mode which involves laying approximately 26 km of sewer main through MTBM with pipes ranging from 1500 mm to 3500 mm in soft soil conditions.

TBM Expert/Geotechnical Expert (PPS-12)

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (preferably Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering) from a recognized HEC University with a minimum of 15 years relevant experience related to Microtunneling/tunneling. Experience related to geotechnical investigations for wastewater facilities through micro tunneling/tunneling for large-scale projects, particularly in urban areas, is highly preferred.

875,000 to 1,400,000 (PPS-12)

Professional Responsibility

· Examining the work of consultants and contractors in the field of soil investigation and design criteria and providing suggestions.

- Coordinating and deciding on technical issues such as route level, depth and proximity to the building.

· Review construction methods for all aspects of construction, including shaft, pipeline construction, micro tunnels, and micro tunnel arrangements, including stabilization, removal, and relocation.

· Ensure that health and safety risks from site soil conditions are sufficiently mitigated.

· Responsible for reviewing all geotechnical survey reports and making relevant decisions necessary for the project according to site requirements.

Reviewing the claims of consultants and contractors related to the geotechnical and micro tunnel aspects of the project.

· Discussion with consultant/contractor to finalize the most optimal route, depth and perspective of construction.

・We manage and supervise ground survey work, TBM work, pedestrian crossing work and land improvement work.

· The responsibility of dealing with the management of consultants, references, customers and subcontractors.

・Familiarity with the execution of work based on the schedule of the contract in the field of responsibility.

· Highlight technical issues, update construction teams on changes, and distribute to vendors, engineers, and supervisors.

Planning and implementation of geotechnical and related monitoring work.

· Manage and supervise all TBM-related activities to ensure the smooth operation of the project.

· Evaluation of soil, rock, fault distribution, and on-site geological investigations.

· Investigate/identify risks related to the project based on soil investigation, TBM performance, and implementation of corrective actions.

· Other duties assigned by the project manager for the successful completion of the project.
